Who Are Coldplay ?

Coldplay were formed in 1996 by lead singler Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland whilst they were at Uni in London they added bassist Guy Berryman after this and finally Will Champion completed the line up as drummer. They signed to Parolphone in 1999, and their first big hit single was Yellow in 2000 and then their debut album Parachutes followed. Their second album was A rush of blood to the head which was released in 2002, they are now onto their 5th album ylo Xyloto which was released in October 2011. They have sold over 50 million records world wide, and have won six Brit Awards, Four MTV awards and Seven Grammy Awards Their UK Stadium tour is expected to sell out fast with no Glastonbury demand for Coldplay Tickets is expected to be huge.

Coldplay Mylo Xyloto Tour Reviews

The US Leg of the tour has seen the band play in LA at the Hollywood bowl. The influential LA Times said of the band

“For an act that crankier critics accuse of playing middlebrow post-indie-rock for Apple adverts, this was awfully ravey. Tour Background and Stats

Coldplay spent most of last year ( Summer 2011) on a promo tour of Europe the Americas and Africa. The details of this tour was first announced via the official coldplay twitter in September 2011. The tour was intially just confirmed to include dates in UK , France, Germany and Belgium. Before the tour the band played small warm up shows in October / November 2011 for radio stations and fan clubs shows. They played arena shows at the end of 2011, before tickets for their stadium shows went on sale. The UK Stadium shows sold out in hours. This is the 5th coldplay tour, it has 8 legs, and consists of 85 shows
44 in Europe / 1 in Asia / 35 in North America / 5 in Australasia. Their show in Madrid was live streamed
